Black and white adds a quality to a photograph, emphasizing purity, it strips away the complications of colour and adds an emotion to a moment in time, psychologist suggest that a black and white photograph allows your brain to process more of that emotion that is being conveyed in the image, colour does not have this attribute. With black and white we are left with light, shadow, texture and contrast, just by simply changing a colour photograph into monochrome, can miraculously turn a mundane representation into an eye catching and intriguing image.
