How my photographic journey began!

An old Kodak camera, a roll of 127 monochrome film, and three schoolboys photographing each other, the date 1962, a photograph which culminated into probably one of the most famous accounts, and most publicised picture of its kind in the 20th Century.

TV coverage, Newspaper, Hardback, Radio, and Government intervention by the MOD, plus personality and Royal family connections, that have created debates that still exist even today!

The boys were catapulted onto the World stage, the USA government involved the case into their Project Blue Book, being a study of UFO cases and its significance to the countries defence strategy,  Alex on one occasion being taken to an American UK airbase to be put onto a telephone hotline direct to the USA, of which that conversation is now widely accepted as it being John F Kennedy speaking to the boy, JFK was deeply interested in UFO accounts believing that it was Russia who were deploying new military craft, and not little green men from outer space.

Years past, and the ever continued rebuke of people and society against Alex in the end created an aura of misery and solitude for him, and deep profound rejection, the continued repulsion from any familiarity to a normal way of life or friends was a burden to heavy to carry. Alex decided to announce the photograph to be fake in belief the harassment would cease, instead it then grew into a behemoth demon of allegation that great amounts of profit were gleaned from a fake story, of which if the truth was known Alex received nothing, Instead the photograph was stolen and published everywhere worldwide, authors, publishing agents, picture libraries, TV channels, magazines, hard backs, video makers, and the tabloids were the ones that gained remuneration, and now some 59 years later the same rebuke and insult continues, although through legal action Alex has stopped the publication of his 1962 photograph worldwide without specific written authority from himself – Alex still continues to see UFO’s and in 2004 he photographed another unidentified flying object at night over Retford Town Square in Nottinghamshire UK.

Alex is the only person known who has been interviewed by the MOD in Whitehall twice regarding his photographs, the last time was when he photographed a second UFO in Nottinghamshire at night using Fuji Film and a Canon T90, the camera and film was examined at length by Fuji Science Labs directed by Leyton Prosser their chief scientist, they concluded that all layers of emulsion were in place, and the adjacency effect was of normality to the object being in the field of view, many tests have since been undertaken on the roll of film and the camera by Kodak and other science laboratories, and even the image analysis’s of the MOD, Canon Optics stated that no flare or light refraction could be the explanation of the object in frame, and concluded that the density and edge were of such detail that the object was indeed in the field of view, also extensive research has been carried out regarding whether any aircraft were in the area at the time. Independent Astro Physicists from Universities have examined the reversal slide photograph, verifying it could not be a celestial body – all investigations have been to no avail, the exact time and date is recorded by the clock tower and the banners advertising  the date of an exhibition, there is no other analogue UFO photograph in existence today that has that pedigree, and therefore it can only be categorised as nothing else than a UFO.

The MOD came up with the idea that the UFO was a droplet of water seated on the lens that had created a light diffraction, they obviously had to find a reasonable excuse that could be swallowed hook line and sinker by the public, and so the later examination of the lens at the labs proved that there was no Aberration, be it chromatic or spherical or even monochromatic, and that's latitude or longitude, even coma effect was tested when light rays can give an impression of a teardrop within the field were negative, also field curvature, and astigmatism, and finally distortion a form of aberration when an image produced within a lens does not retain its rectilinearity, nothing was found to be wrong with the Canon lens I used on the T90 - for the none technical minds I am going to offer an experiment, I shall ask them to superglue a small coin onto the front element of a camera lens, they will find it will not show through the eyepiece or on the resulting photograph, only a marked depreciation in contrast, it was physically impossible for a water droplet to show or even create an object in the field of view, Fuji science team proved that could not be so, even ghosting does not create such an effect with sharp contrast edges and total equal adjacency effect.
