Portraits and Colour Photos

Every great portrait speaks for itself. Its tone may be dignified or defiant, confrontational or conspiratorial, elusive or evocative, but whatever its mood, it addresses the viewer directly, a visual declaration whose power is immediate and unmistakable, it seems so simple yet it is not, to capture the spirit and character of another human being is a challenge beyond measure, but when it happens the result brings both delight and fascination. Colour photography has the ability to show the inner self of the subject, or to bring to life the charisma of a landscape, even a macabre subject is portrayed more strongly in this medium, and we owe much of this to Auguste and Louis Lumiere for their invention of Autochrome and Cinematographe.
